The original pieces are built as much as painted. A scene is laser-cut and held together with resin, then dusted with diamond dust so the surface catches the light, with acrylic worked onto wood beneath. The result sits between being a painting and an object.

His recent Best of British series, sparked by the Paris Olympics, gathers the country's leading figures in sport, fashion and entertainment into a single celebratory run of work. He takes on the occasional commission.
