He came to it the long way. After a degree in graphic design and years as a creative director in California, designing for the likes of Fossil and Gap, painting pulled him back. He works in oil on panel, often outdoors, and has sharpened his eye studying with the figurative painter Jacob Dhein in Florence and, in 2023, with Jeremy Mann in Spain.

Born in Tennessee in 1974 and raised on the Texas Gulf Coast, Reeves took a fine art degree at Baylor University, studying painting under Karl Umlauf. His time in Spain led to the solo exhibition Paintings from Spain.

He lives and works in the United States.
