John Monks is a legend in the art world. Like Freud or Bacon, he’s transformed his genre. He brings light, energy, and even movement to his preferred subject matter – architectural spaces and inanimate objects. For me, the rhythmic patterns and edgy strokes evoke a lively nostalgia.
