Description
Marco’s portrait bring an earthly glow to his subjects.
After a trip to Russia, he noticed a millenia old concept that had been largely forgotten, using gold leaf to create an energetic aura around the subject. He revived that tradition with a contemporray take. His portraits are built with an exacting, almost photographic technique, then adapted with colour, lacquer and metal leaf. The paintings feel both modern and centuries old.
