Description

Domenica de Ferranti’s sculptures function as a travel diary, each piece a record of an encounter, a Maasai herder, a woman carrying water in Burma, a hunter from the Hadzabe tribe, rendered with a tactile, rhythmic handling that favours simplified form over surface detail.

Trained in the atelier tradition in Florence and later as a furniture maker, she works across bronze, wood, plaster, and carved marble, moving fluidly between portraiture and the symbolic treatment of human, animal, and tree forms.
