Ritva Georgiades
Ritva returned to art later in life, after her family had grown and her husband began to decline with Alzheimer’s. Her works are découpage – an intricate weaving of thread, gemstone, metal leaf, and pigment. Making them has become her therapy. Into each piece, we feel the combination of hours of release and devotion.
That’s what I noticed when I discovered her – the positive energy just emanating from her work. Once I learned her story, I understood what a healthy chrysalis she’d created. Since then, I’m pleased to say that Ritva has a growing band of collectors following the sparkling elegance and optimistic energy of her practice.
