Remi turns rhythm into geometry. His compositions are precise and boldly coloured, but carry the swing of the music he also makes, ordered and alive at once.
He started by painting graffiti on the streets of South London in the 1980s, spraying wildstyle letters on walls and trains. Since then, he has pared those letters back until only shape, colour and movement remain. He works in acrylic, spray and graphite, closer to Malevich or Nicholson than his style writing roots.
Born in London in 1971, he has shown at MOCA London, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, USA and the ArtScience Museum in Singapore, painted murals with Banksy, and made a permanent 100-metre work at Hong Kong's Quarry Bay station. Most recently his work was shown in the Royal Academy of Arts, 2026 Summer Exhibition.
Forbes has called him one of the 5 most important graffiti artists alive today. Remi is a founding member of Agents of Change and a leading figure in the post-graffiti and Graffuturism movements.
He lives and works in London with his wife and daughter.
