Australian-born John Berrick studied at the National Art School in Sydney before teaching art and drama, then spent two decades with the Walt Disney Company, working across Asia before becoming Vice President of Entertainment at Disneyland Paris in 2012.
Throughout this period he kept visual diaries of his travels, accumulating sketches, swatches, and fragments of printed material that eventually found their form in collage. His large-scale mixed media works explore natural forces rather than fixed forms: rivers, tides, sand dunes, and seasonal winds rendered as atmosphere and emotional shift. His work is held in the University of Newcastle collection and has been exhibited at Shinberg Galleries and Surry Hills Gallery in Sydney, Studio Rouge in Hong Kong, Studio 57 in Paris, and in a solo show at McKay Williamson Gallery in London in 2023. He is based near Paris, France.
