Adam works across painting, wood-working, cut paper and light. He harnesses the organic world, from botany and humanity to landscape, into shapes that seem abstract… but are meticulous reflections of life.
He rarely stays in one medium. His detailed compositions may be pigment on canvas, carved and burnt wood, paper cut by hand, or light boxes where the colour comes from illuminated layers rather than pigment.
Ball studied Fine Art at Newcastle University after a foundation at Byam Shaw, and has shown at Paul Kasmin and Gagosian in New York and the Goss-Michael Foundation in Dallas. George Michael was an early collector. His largest piece is a permanent sixteen-metre light box outside Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.
He lives and works outside London with his family.
