Born in Leicester, Paul Wright developed his unique style after completing a degree in Illustration at Falmouth School of Art. Initially working in illustration, he transitioned to portraiture, quickly making a name for himself in the art world. His ability to convey the vitality of his subjects through fluid, gestural strokes has earned him wide acclaim.

Wright’s artworks have been exhibited internationally, including notable solo shows and group exhibitions. His artworks are included in prestigious collections such as Texas State University, Standard Chartered Bank, and The Jerwood Foundation. His talent has also been recognised through selections for the BP National Portrait Award and the Threadneedle Prize, solidifying his reputation as a leading contemporary portrait artist.
