Jocelyn Braxton-Armstrong

Jocelyn Braxton Armstrong is a ceramic artist celebrated for refined contemporary sculptures that bridge fine art and craft. After nearly twenty years in Manhattan as a fashion stylist and editor, she turned to ceramics in 2001 and now centers her work on the female form, new materials, and porcelain wall pieces shaped like wings.

She has received notable recognition, including an Artist Fellowship Grant from the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism and Emerging Artist Awards from American Style Magazine, Ceramics Monthly, and The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. Her work has also earned first prizes at major regional exhibitions.

Armstrong’s porcelain pieces appear in private collections and galleries across the United States. She holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, teaches ceramics at Manhattanville College, is a member of ArtAxis, and works from her studio in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
