Description

Marco paints as if the old masters had grown up with graffiti and pop culture. Classical figures and Renaissance poise collide with spray-paint colour, tattoos and slogans, held together by solid composition, so the work feels both centuries old and thoroughly of the street.

He works in acrylic and mixed media, layering meticulous, classically painted figures with the marks of contemporary street art, so that reverence and irreverence share the same canvas. The tension between the two is his work’s essence.
