Description
Tim’s sculptures never look the same. The glass is cut and polished so that colour refracts and form bends, throwing shadows that move with the light throughout the day. His pieces are intended as an antidote to speed. They are objects that ask you to slow down and actually look.
Each piece starts as free-blown glass, its colours and inner forms shaped in the heat of the furnace. Once cooled, it is cut and polished by hand, slow work that takes far longer than the blowing itself, and it is only this final cutting that reveals the twisted strands, nested vortices and layered spheres held inside.
